Cove Bay Nursery offers a wide range of exceptional activities and opportunities and encourages children to participate in these free experiences to help them build their confidence and develop their skills.
Eco Schools is the largest sustainable schools programme in the world and is designed to encourage action on sustainable development education issues. Our children love getting involved in their Eco Schools projects and learning about how to help protect the environment.
E-Learning Journals allow you to see your child’s activities at nursery with the click of a button. Staff upload images and notes about your child's participation in activities at nursery for you to access wherever you are. Our nursery tablets offer exciting and stimulating learning experiences tailored to challenge and engage little ones.
We are lucky to have bi-lingual staff who are able to support children in their first language, or in exploring new languages. This not only helps children settle well into nursery, but also provides opportunity to better understand and celebrate children's cultures and heritage. We have staff fluent in Polish, and Russian.
Our dance programme is designed to enhance children principal areas of learning and development while experiencing the joys of movement and creativity through dance.
We celebrate Christmas by putting on a wonderful Christmas show for friends and family each year. There's always much excitement in preparing for the show as we learn songs and organise our special dress ups.
In recognition that education begins in the home, we are fully committed to a partnership approach with parents. Parents are kept up to date with monthly newsletters, parent focus groups and 6 monthly parent’s evenings. Parents are also able to keep up to date with activities going on in the nursery by following our social media accounts; Cove Bay Facebook and Twitter.
Our nursery enjoys great ties with our local community and we are often out and about visiting local sights and getting involved in events. We enjoy visits to the local parks, have good community links with the local nursing home, supermarkets, soft play and pet shop.
Our nursery encourages children to celebrate festivals throughout the year. This is one of the best ways for children to learn about different religions and cultures by celebrating various world religious festivals, food tasting from different countries, and dressing up in the national dress of their friends.
Settling In Sessions
Our nursery offers settling in sessions. Parents can bring their child for a couple of hours first, gradually introducing the child to a new environment. Settling in sessions are aimed at helping your child to adapt to their new surroundings and becoming more familiar with the staff and other children.
We celebrate the big move to primary school with a special graduation ceremony each year—caps, gowns, the works!
Taking care of animals provides children with a great sense of responsibility and opportunities to asses risk whilst developing empathy and social skills.
Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that are less fortunate than themselves and understand how we can help them. Fundraising events are good fun and are a great way to get children, families and communities together. Some of the fundraisers we have taken part in are sponsored toddles, superhero days, bake sales and garden parties.
